EchoQuest v0.4–0.6: Building Worlds
January was about building the systems that make a world feel alive — places to go, people to talk to, quests to complete, and friends to bring along.
v0.4.0 — Admin Tools & Procedural Maps (Jan 12)
- Admin dashboard with role-based access control
- Tileset registry for managing map graphics
- Procedural map generator with forest and town variants
v0.5.0 — Quests & Loot (Jan 20)
- Map teleport events and world map navigation
- Spawn zone and spawn point configuration
- Quest system with multi-objective quests and prerequisites
- Treasure and loot drop tables
v0.6.0 — Parties, Death & Dialogue (Jan 28)
- Party system with shared XP, quests, loot, and party chat
- Death system with normal and hardcore modes (hardcore drops items at corpse)
- NPC dialogue system with branching conversations
The game went from “walk around and fight things” to “explore a world with purpose.” Multiplayer is next.
