EchoQuest v0.10–0.12: Classes, Combat & Polish
This stretch was about making the game feel real — proper classes, proper enemies, proper controls, and a proper UI.
v0.10.0–0.10.1 — Mobile & Rebrand (Feb 14–15)
- Game officially rebranded to Echo Quest
- Mobile attack button with virtual joystick
- Six playable classes: Warrior, Mage, Rogue, Necromancer, Cleric, and Ranger
- AI-controlled minions that follow player commands
- Server-controlled enemy spawns with AI behaviors (line of sight, pathfinding, de-aggro)
- Discord bot integration for linking your game account
- World maps and procedural dungeon generator with NPC shops
- Mobile skill bar with virtual joystick support
- “I’m Stuck” button in pause menu to teleport back to town
- Gold UI theme replaces old blue accents across all menus
v0.11.0 — Map Editor & Progression (Feb 16)
- Map editor now supports painting spawn zones, NPC placements, and teleport areas
- Player referral system with tiered rewards
- Social media account linking for bonus rewards
- Ability rank progression system
- Mana system for spellcasting classes
- HUD layout overhauled: HP/MP/XP/Level moved to bottom bar for cleaner view
v0.12.0 — Server-Side Health & Abilities (Feb 18)
- Health is now tracked server-side for improved security and fairness
- All 24 class abilities (4 per class) are now fully data-driven and editable by admins
- New admin editor for class abilities and spells
- NPC dialogue and shop panels received a visual refresh
The game went from prototype to something that actually looks and feels like an RPG. Six classes, real AI enemies, and a mobile experience that works — big milestone.
