Blackwood Manor is a gothic text adventure in the spirit of Zork and classic interactive fiction. Type commands to explore a haunted Victorian mansion, solve puzzles, battle supernatural enemies, and uncover the dark truth behind Lady Blackwood's death.
Navigate 20+ interconnected rooms across three floors — from the overgrown gardens to the family crypt. Collect items, talk to restless spirits, decipher diary entries and torn pages, and piece together a ritual that could set the dead free. Every choice matters, and the house has more than one ending.

Battle shades, poltergeists, wraiths, and worse. Iron weapons deal bonus damage to spirits. Some enemies flee from light — others can only be hurt by iron.

Locked doors, combination codes, a ritual to reconstruct, and scattered clues hidden in diaries, journals, and torn pages. Pay attention to everything.
NPC Dialogue
Four restless spirits with their own stories — a gardener, a maid, a dancing couple, and Lady Blackwood herself. Each reveals pieces of the mystery.
Multiple Endings
Your choices determine the outcome. Complete the ritual, confront Lord Blackwood, or succumb to madness. The manor remembers what you do.

Movement
go north, south, east, west, up, down — or just n, s, e, w, u, d.
Items
take / drop / use / read — interact with objects. inventory (or i) to see what you're carrying.
World
look to examine the room. examine [thing] for a closer look. talk to [name] to speak with ghosts.
Combat
attack to fight with your equipped weapon. flee to escape. Iron weapons and light sources are your best friends.
Saving
save [1-3] to save to a slot. load [1-3] to restore. saves to list all save slots. The game also auto-saves.
Help
help for a full command list. hint if you're stuck. map to see rooms you've visited.
